Lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mesothelioma are complex and challenging diseases to treat. Obtaining a precise diagnosis and developing an individualized treatment plan are critical to success. Our team is also strongly committed to the emotional well being of patients. Treatment goals are clearly communicated. Patients and their families are encouraged to ask questions and to be proactive participants in their case.
Thoracic Surgery patients are initially evaluated at the Thoracic Oncology clinic located at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center on the UCSF Mt. Zion campus. The multidisciplinary thoracic oncology team there is led by David M. Jablons, M.D., Program Leader of Thoracic Oncology and Chief of Thoracic Surgery at UCSF.
